Where Does The Time Go?

It’s been five years since Whitney Houston died on February 11, 2012.  Five years!  It seems like it was only a few years ago, but not five years.

Why does time go by so fast?

When I was much younger, I asked an older man why time speeds up as we get older.  His reply made sense.

“When you’re only 3 years old, you only have 3 years.  One year is a long time.  But as you gather more years, a year isn’t such a long time.  What is one year when you are 100 years old?”

I know it’s a matter of perception.

I once heard a psychologist on a radio talk show say that we can slow time down by being mindful, or more aware of what we are doing in the moment.  In other words, be the way we were when we were children when all was new to us as we lived in the moment.

Mindfulness will have to do for me until someone invents a device that can slow down or stop time.
