Whenever I see a woman wearing makeup, my mind’s eye shows me a clown.  The more makeup a woman wears, the more she looks like a clown.  The more she looks like a clown, the less attractive she is.   How beautiful a woman is when she wears little or no makeup!

Makeup is supposed to make a woman look natural.  What is natural about black lines around the eyes, blue eyelids, and bright red lips?  And then there’s the nonsense with the eyebrows.  Why would a woman shave off her eyebrows, and then paint on fake eyebrows high on her forehead?  That looks natural?

I once heard a cosmetician say that the correct way to wear makeup is to appear not to be wearing any.  If the cosmetician is right, then a lot of women are wearing makeup incorrectly. Some women must lose 5 to 10 pounds when they remove their makeup.

I don’t agree with the message that advertising sends to women:  You’re not beautiful unless you’re wearing makeup.

There are several librarians, at the North York Central Library, who do not wear any makeup. How refreshing these women are to look at!
