“It’s not right!  They use us for our guts and then throw us away.  Why are they so thoughtless?”

“Thoughtlessness is typical behavior for them.  Look how they treat Mother Nature.”

“Not all of them are thoughtless.  Some of them care.  Some humans recycle and reuse.  And some humans know that they can use us, after shaking out our guts, for:

  • Minor skin irritations and itching after dropping us into some apple cider vinegar and letting us soak for a few days before using the mixture on skin;
  • Clean pots and pans by grinding us up and mixing us with soapy water;
  • Fertilize a garden, and keep some pests and cats away, by sprinkling us around;
  • Keeping us in a covered jar of water, and use the water for indoor plants; and
  • Add us to ground coffee, before brewing, to make the coffee taste less bitter.”

“Wow!  I did not know that we could be that useful.”

“That’s only some of the uses for us.  There are others.”

“Too bad more humans did not know this.”
